The Fire Brigade's "House of Revenue"

The originator of the construction of the Fire Brigade's "House of Revenue" was Dr. Antoni Troczewski. According to the originator, it was here that the social and patriotic life of the inhabitants of Kutno and the poviat was to be focused. The architectural design of the building in the eclectic style was made free of charge by the architect Kazimierz Stebelski - a member of the Firefighting Society. The construction site was handed over by the city authorities as perpetual lease. On September 10, 1899, the cornerstone was laid for the construction of the building, and the foundations were consecrated by the dean, priest prelate Piotr Zbrowski.
The ceremonial opening of the "House of Revenue" took place on December 20, 1908, although concerts, performances and meetings were held in the theater hall from August 1900. In January 1904, Henryk Sienkiewicz visited the theater room with a lecture. In the building of the former theater there is a rare work of art - a plafond painting, allegorical with the muse of dance and song - Terpsychora.
In 2012, the facility underwent modernization and now houses the Center for Theater, Music and Dance.
